The impact of wind on the rainfall–runoff relationship in urban high-rise building areas

Abstract. Wind drift has a significant influence on the rainfall–runoff relationship in urban high-rise building areas since oblique rainfall caused by wind can interact with walls. However, impact of inclination angle process not been studied. In this study, between and such was explored. A theoretical framework developed to describe their relationship, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method obtain speed newly derived equation runoff coefficient. Subsequently, laboratory scale model experiment conducted verify proposed framework. The main results are that (1) coefficient calculated is highly consistent obtained from experiment, (2) increases increase rate linear tangent angle, (3) change for larger raindrop 0.047 when 0 5.9 m s?1, while smaller 0.064, which means droplets less influenced wind.
